In 2024, WYAP brought back an old event that we had hosted years ago with the support of Ameriana Bank. However, this time it was going to be a Walk/Run called “The Double.” Held on August 17th in Cool Creek Park, this inaugural event featured roughly 150 participants from our community.

The two-mile walk/run was designed to leave a lasting impact on the lives of our youth, fostering a sense of unity and purpose. Participants could sign up for one of two divisions: competitive and recreational (family-friendly). We wanted the event to be open to everyone, allowing families to mix and match their group registrations based on each individual’s interests.

The name “The Double” has two different meanings. It references the two-mile course of the event, while also being a nod towards our mission of ‘doubling the impact’ of WYAP in our community.
