Westfield Youth Assistance Program Receives Proceeds From Westfield Book

WESTFIELD, INDIANA—Westfield Youth Assistance Program (WYAP) received $7,500 from Westfield resident Dave Mueller as a donation from the proceeds of his book detailing the history of Westfield. “Westfield: A Period of Growth and Progress” is a collaboration of 34 authors, and was published in a limited run of 1,500 copies in 2023.

Community members funded the production of the book, which left Mueller with the ability to give back to his community with the proceeds from the $40 book. Mueller and the other contributors chose four local non-profit organizations to receive funds—Heart and Soul, Open Doors, Student Impact, and WYAP.

“Westfield is a kind and caring community,” Mueller said. “I put this at the very beginning of the book, we talk about nonprofits. These are people who volunteer their time and work with youth, they work with sick people, with hungry people. This allows our community to stand out from a lot of other communities.”

The book is meant to spotlight Westfield’s spirit of giving, and highlight the community’s kind and caring attitude. Each of the four non-profits received a $7,500 check from Mueller and his team, enabling them to continue their work in the Westfield community.
